Mindy is our Admin. and fields most the calls when you call the office. She is quick to either answer any questions or direct you to the agent who can. We are excited to have her around and she is already impressing us daily!

Important Dates!

Open Enrollment Period (OEP)

  • Jan. 1 – March 31

  • One-time switch – “The do-over period”

  • Any plan we enroll in during this period will be effective on the first of the following month.

  • We can switch from MAPD to MAPD.

  • There are no health questions required to switch from MAPD to MAPD.

General Enrollment Period (GEP)

  • Jan. 1 – March 31

  • Enrollment into Original Medicare (Parts A & B)

  • If you missed signing up for Parts A & B during the year, this is when you can sign up. Penalties may apply.

  • Original Medicare will take effect on the first of the following month.

  • You will get a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to enroll in an MAPD, PDP, or Medicare Supplement.

Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)

  • 7-month window around your 65th birth month or 25th month of receiving disability (SSDI).

  • The 7-month window consists of:

    • 3 months before your birth month

    • Your birth month

    • 3 months after your birth month

    • If you are on disability: 3 months before your 25th month of SSDI, your 25th month, or 3 months after your 25th month.

  • The first time most people can enroll in Medicare.

  • Anything we do in the first 3 months takes effect in either your birth month or your 25th month of disability. Anything we do during the birth month (or 25th month) or the 3 months after takes effect the following month.

  • Special situation – If you were born on the first of a month, your Medicare will take effect on the first of the previous month.

  • During this period, we can enroll in an MAPD, PDP, or Medicare Supplement without health questions.
