Important Update - Changes to North Kansas City Hospital Medicare Advantage Plans
Do you or someone you know, go to North Kansas City Hospital ( NKCH) or affiliates?
Dear Valued Client,
We want to make you aware of an important upcoming change that may affect your Medicare coverage.
Beginning January 1, 2026, North Kansas City Hospital (now NKC Health) and Meritas Health will no longer accept Cigna Medicare Advantage plans. Additionally, starting April 1, 2026, they will no longer accept UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans (Optum/AARP).
If you or someone you know currently receives care from North Kansas City Hospital or Meritas Health and has coverage through Cigna or UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, this means your doctors and hospital will be considered out of network in 2026.
The good news is, you have options!
Senior Benefits Plus can help you switch to a Humana Medicare Advantage plan, which will continue to be accepted by NKC Health next year.
If you have already had your review, we will reach out to you and make sure you are on the right plan for you and your lifestyle. If we have you down for a review already, we will definitely go over the changes if they affect you and make the needed changes.
To avoid any disruption in your healthcare, please contact us as soon as possible so we can review your plan and help you make a smooth transition during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7).
